In today’s world, it’s easy to get swept up in the rush of chasing success, wealth, status, and appearances. The world constantly tells us we’re not enough: not successful enough, not attractive enough, not wealthy enough. The world offers material and superficial solutions for our deep spiritual hunger. But all that striving often leaves us more depleted than fulfilled. It creates noise, distraction, and disorder in our minds and hearts. The truth is, we were never created to be completed by the world. We were designed to be whole in God’s presence.
Let’s take a moment to breathe and reflect on this:
You are ALREADY COMPLETE when you’re in God’s presence.
The Illusion of More
From the moment we wake up, we’re bombarded by messages telling us to do more, be more, and get more. Social media, advertisements, and cultural expectations shout at us: “Buy this, and you’ll be happy.” “Get that promotion, and you’ll finally feel secure.” “Look like her, and you’ll be beautiful.”
But behind those glittery promises is an empty well. The more we drink from it, the thirstier we become. We might gain the house, the car, the brand names, the recognition—and still feel like something is missing.
Why? Because no amount of worldly gain can replace the peace and identity found in God’s presence.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus reminds us: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
When we flip this order—seeking “all these things” first and treating God like an afterthought—we lose our sense of direction. The world offers temporary satisfaction, but it’s always conditional and fleeting. Only in God is our soul anchored and rooted to the sorce that will keep us consistently full.
Made for More—But Not the World’s “More”
There is a reason we feel so restless when we chase after the world’s version of success. Our spirits were created for divine connection, not earthly perfection.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart…”
We are eternal beings. We are made in the image of a limitless God. Trying to fit ourselves into the mold of a limited world. That friction—the internal discomfort, the anxiety, the constant striving—is not because we’re broken. It’s because we’re trying to be filled with what was never designed to complete us.
You were made for more, yes—but not more money, more likes, more attention, or more applause. You were made for more of God.
Worldly Goals Lead to Worldly Disorder
Chasing the world often leads to a disordered life. We begin to neglect what truly matters—relationships, mental health, spiritual growth—because we’re caught up in the hustle for status. We overwork ourselves, overextend our budgets, overbook our schedules, and overthink our every move. The result? Burnout. Anxiety. Depression. Addiction. Isolation. Disconnection from our true selves and from God.
This is not the life God desires for His children.

1 Corinthians 14:33 says: “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace…”
If your life feels chaotic and disorderly, it’s worth asking:
Am I building my life on God’s direction or the world’s expectations?
When we chase after what the world says is important, we may achieve outward success but suffer inward collapse. The applause of others can’t fill the void of a heart that’s been running from God.
The Gift of Stillness in His Presence
In contrast to the frenzy of the world, God’s presence offers peace, clarity, and restoration. It doesn’t demand performance. It doesn’t ask you to earn approval. It simply invites you to be—to rest, to receive, and to realign with the truth of who you are.

Psalm 46:10 invites us to: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Stillness in God’s presence is not passive. It’s deeply powerful. It’s in that quiet place where our fears unravel, our identity is affirmed, and our purpose becomes clear.
God doesn’t compete with the noise of the world. He whispers in love. He heals in stillness. He completes you not by adding more to your life, but by removing the false labels the world has given you.
If you’re struggling with overwhelming emotions and negative self-talk, remember that it’s not God. It’s the enemy trying to overpower God’s voice and rush you. Tell it to leave you and surrender that voice and emotions to God so He can handle those battles. You can achieve this by praying, reading His word, or listening to faith-based music. Gradually, the thoughts and emotions will fade, and you will hear His voice clearly.
Next, you will experience peace, contentment, and rest in his presence. To achieve this, you must continue to practice daily giving God everything in life. It will be worth it. As you become more connected to the well of God, you will no longer have to try so hard to feel his presence.
You’re Not Missing Anything—You’re Just Misaligned
One of the enemy’s greatest lies is, “You’re not enough unless you have _____.”
Fill in the blank: a title, a spouse, a bank balance, a perfect body, a viral platform.
But in Christ, you lack nothing.

Colossians 2:10 says: “And in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.”
This verse doesn’t say, “You will be complete once you get your life together.” It says you are already full in Christ. Right now. As you are.
You don’t need to earn your worth. You already have it.
You don’t need to chase after validation. You’re already chosen.
You don’t need the world’s approval. You have God’s presence.
This is what it means to live from a place of divine completeness. When you embrace this truth, the need to strive fades. The obsession with comparison breaks. The grip of insecurity loosens. And in its place comes a steady, quiet joy.
Reordering Your Life Around God’s Presence
If you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or spiritually dry, it may be time to reorder your priorities. Start by seeking God first. Not after everything else is done, but first. Before the scroll, before the to-do list, before the hustle.
Here are a few ways to return to the peace of His presence:
- Start your day with prayer: Even 5 minutes of honest conversation with God can anchor your whole day.
- Meditate on Scripture: Let God’s truth rewire your thoughts. Verses like Psalm 23, Romans 8, and Colossians 3 are powerful reminders of who you are. You can find all of these scriptures listed at the end of this article.
- Practice gratitude: Thanking God for what you already have shifts your focus from lack to abundance.
- Limit your exposure to worldly noise: Set boundaries around social media, news, and toxic conversations. Protect your peace.
- Surround yourself with faith-filled community: We weren’t meant to walk alone. Fellowship with others who are pursuing God helps you stay aligned.
- Journal everything: I start a new journal entry with “Dear God” then write what ever comes to my mind. This will help you see his answered prayers and his protection when you reread it as your future self.
Final Thoughts: Living From Wholeness, Not for Wholeness
Dear sister, you were never meant to live for approval, applause, or achievements. You were created to live from the fullness of being loved, known, and completed in Christ.
You don’t need the world to tell you that you’re successful—you already are in God’s eyes. You don’t need material things to prove your value—you are already of immeasurable worth. You don’t need to strive to be more—you are already enough because God is more than enough in you.
As you let go of the world’s definitions of success and tune into God’s presence, you’ll find your heart becoming less frantic and more fulfilled. That’s because His presence is not just a place you visit—it’s the home your soul has been searching for. Remember, God is in you, around you, guiding you, and following you. He will never leave you. He is always listening and he wants to hear you and to be with you. He created you as a masterpiece.
So pause. Breathe. Be still. And remember:
You are already complete.
In Him.

PSALMS 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Life Through the Spirit
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Present Suffering and Future Glory
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
More Than Conquerors
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
COLOSSIANS 3
Living as Those Made Alive in Christ
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Instructions for Christian Households
18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.
