5 ways to push past your boundaries ” Fences” you have build | Breaking a Limiting Mindset

Your mind tells your body where to go, but your body will not go anywhere, and your mind will not let it.

We all get stuck in routines for many reasons. But the main one that affects us the most is not training our minds daily. Many of us need to challenge our minds to push past their limits. We let our mindset keep us where we are because we feel safe. Instead of allowing ourselves to have faith in who we are. Choosing what we know only enables us to live within the fences we have built for ourselves instead of getting to wander and explore new areas. We must learn to direct our mindset to be comfortable under the pressure of taking down those fences and Opening ourselves to a big world we have not yet touched.

This world has possibilities of success, joy, love, gifts, knowledge, and so much more.

We are here on earth to make a difference for the better. To live the most whole life possible. But how will we do that if we stay in the cell in which we have been contained? Why push the Limits that we currently live within? How did we learn these limits?

When we were young dreamers, our parents told most of us that we could do anything we dreamed of if we had faith. Then, when we get older, they teach us a new mindset of living within the bounds of safety. What we think is safe is what our parents taught us. It is our parent’s definition of safety, not ours. The fences surrounding our mindsets have been passed down for generations, which is okay. We need to realize that they grew up learning how to be safe from a world that is very different from ours. We don’t have to be scared of the same things that they were because those things do not threaten us as much as they did back then. Our generations have come a long way to get where society is now. But they do not have the visions or dreams that we have now. They do not have the options of self-growth and freedom we have been given.

We need to push the fences from the past away. The limitations given to us to keep safe need to be taken down so we can learn to live fully. This way, we can learn to have faith in our dreams. They are meant to and need to come true. They give us purpose even in dark times. This way, we can live in this new shiny world of opportunity, love, kindness, and blessings.

We all have dark and light rotations in our lives daily. I want us to learn to move through both like the warriors that God created us to be. The way we do that is to have faith. We need to have faith in our God-given gifts and weakness. He is our number one, no matter what situation we come across. Because he built us with everything we need to climb the mountains, we are faced with in the darkness. This will return us back to the light.

How can we learn to do this?

Here are my 5 ways to learn how to strengthen your mindset, to help you push your mindset past the limits that have been instilled in you.

1. Cross the Fence

Please start by stepping past the line you have been too afraid of crossing. Then another. It will be easier to focus on the first step instead of the final destination. Focusing on little steps will grow into bigger ones, and they are a lot easier to handle. Before you know it, you will be so far away from where you came that you will want to keep pushing. Before you know it, when you look back, you will be proud and astonished that your little steps have turned into miles from where you started.

2. Teach your mind to live in positivity

If we allow ourselves to think negatively, we will only know how to think negatively because that is what we have trained to do. So, let’s break the habits. When you start thinking something negative, I want you to repeat these habits. When you start thinking something negative, please repeat it to yourself with a positive spin. For instance, I am not a nice person. Repeat, I use my strengths to help people. Additional ways you can train your mind to think positively are:

  1. Listen to positive podcast
  2. Listen to motivational YouTube videos.
  3. Read self-help books
  4. Read the Bible

Your brain is trained to find truths about what we tell ourselves. Therefore, if you consistently tell yourself you are a failure, your brain will find ways to prove this to be true, even if it is not.

3. Surround yourself with positive mindset people.

Good communities could include the Church, friends, family, a support group, or communities. Surround yourself with people who know your worth and will help remind you of it. They will help you handle stressful and overwhelming tasks and thoughts when you are weak. A good community will help you achieve your dreams since they want what’s best for you. They do not gatekeep, sabotage, or harm you in any way. Finding your community or group takes effort, but it is worth it. We all deserve people to be on our side.

4. Repeat positive affirmations daily.

Repeating positive things you love about yourself or your desires will have many benefits. You will be more confident. Your strengths will become more apparent since you can see your presence in the light, not just darkness. You will learn to find the beauty in how you are and cherish it. Saying simple positive statements to yourself will train your mind to see the good in your life and in who you are. We all have weaknesses and strengths. Your goal is to know your worth; affirmations will allow you to remind yourself daily.

5. Write love letters to yourself.

Another way to change your mindset is to write love letters to yourself. They can be a little short or very detailed. They are meant to be reminders of positive things about yourself. Some examples are success you have accomplished or a new skill you learned. You could say you love yourself. Or write statements about circumstances that you have overcome. But I don’t want you to write them down and forget about them. I want you to reread them weekly. Feel inspired to see how far you have come along this journey to a new you. A trip to this new life of making your dreams come true.

Finally,

Remember, pushing past the limits of our mindset is a journey, not a sprint. It takes time, effort, and patience. But as we take each step forward, we grow stronger and more resilient. Embracing a positive mindset, surrounding ourselves with supportive communities, and learning to have faith in our dreams will ultimately lead us to a life of purpose, fulfillment, and boundless opportunities. So, let’s continue to challenge ourselves, break free from the limitations of our past, and step into the bright future that awaits us.
